Seth Springer Receives NIH F30 Fellowship Award

In recent decades, the United States has been undergoing a dramatic demographic shift towards an older population, and with this increase comes a higher prevalence of age-related neurodegenerative diseases. The most common neurodegenerative disorder worldwide is Alzheimer’s disease, although much remains unknown regarding the brain physiology underlying the disease process. Seth Springer, an MD/PhD student, was awarded an F30 fellowship from the National Institute on Aging division of NIH in January 2022 to help fill this gap in knowledge by characterizing the aberrant oscillatory dynamics underlying visual processing and visuospatial attention in patients with AD and its common precursor, mild cognitive impairment. Mr. Springer is a graduate student in Dr. Tony Wilson’s DICoN Laboratory at the Institute for Human Neuroscience at Boys Town National Research Hospital and the University of Nebraska Medical Center.
